Five killer apps for the month

Google’s Play Store is home to over a million apps and it isn’t humanly possible to check the feature aspect of each and every app out there. So to make things simple, every month a total of 5 apps will get the spotlight they deserve. However, it is up to you to decide the apps you would like to have installed on your smartphone.

We all know that apps such as Facebook, Chrome, Drive, Instagram and a few more make up for our default set of must haves, however, they don’t quite compliment a phone when it comes to productivity or even when it comes to looking up the latest news on technology. To address that issue, here is a roundup of 5 killer apps that shouldn’t be overlooked.

1. Pushbullet– This is comes in as a highly recommended app. In other words, your smartphone is incomplete without this installed. What is it all about?! As the name suggests, the app allows you to push Links, Pictures, Checklists, Notes & Reminders, Files and Street addresses/location across devices. For instance, you can simply push a link or file from a browser to a phone/tablet or vice versa; eliminating the need to physically connect the device to your desktop or laptop.

2. Appy Geek & Appy Gamer – Tech or no tech, life is incomplete without the right amount of information. The app gives you the latest on what’s happening in the world of technology, providing complete coverage on tech news, games, gadgets or company buyouts.

3. Boat Browser – Not everyone is keen on using Chrome as their default browser. Apart from its awesome sync feature, Google Chrome tends to crash more often than not. So for those of you interested in making the switch, Boat Browser comes in as one the best alternatives. From gestures to add-ons to its unique little floating tab, Boat is one rock solid browser that needs to be tried to be believed in. Tablet users can download the alternative from here.

4. Flud– If you love downloading torrents then you simply cannot overlook Flud - a very simple and beautiful BitTorrent client. After having tried a number of torrents, Flud beats them all by a long shot in terms of performance, memory consumption and features. So if you do a lot of downloads using torrents, Flud then comes in as a must have Android app.

5. CamDictionary– If you love traveling the world then this little app can be a lifesaver. The app can translate words it captures via the camera, that too in real-time. With support for 36 languages, this app can be used in almost any given geographic location. Hell, you can even learn a few words with the help of audio clips and pronunciation guides.

Another app which I would have loved to include is Cover. It is basically a lock screen that learns which apps you tend to use more often. By doing so, Cover gives you direct access to apps without having to unlock your phone. Unfortunately since my device is not currently supported, testing and recommending it was not possible. However, I did feel that the app required a mention, so here it is. If possible let me know your take on Cover.
